A log cabin has been erected in the museum, which is a replica of a Cherokee dwelling during the time of removal in 1838-1839. This type of dwelling was also typical of that used by the white settlers and many confiscated Cherokee homes were taken over by them when they bought the former Cherokee lands from the state.
